Any Savvy Bloggers Out There?

Posted by aircookie on 25 Points
Hi There,
I'm looking for someone to transform a very drab informational website into a custom blog. Ready to start blogging about my furniture business and other things I really love. Any takers?
I am a funky, creative, urban fashionista who loves all things related to paint and cool vintage finds.

About the business:

At gREene Again, owner tywana gREene REpurposes vintage furniture and REdesigns other unique finds to create wonderfully unexpected pieces for her clients.
Every piece of furniture I cREate has its own character. It is not intended to be perfect. I love the "imperfectness" because that's what life is: imperfect.
For most of my projects, my favorite paint is chalk paint because it needs no primer and is extremely versatile. The finish is powdery and "crackled," giving even new furniture a vintage look.
If you're looking for a special piece of furniture, I will go on a custom hunt and then style it for you. CHOOSE YOUR OWN PAINT COLOR!!! Visit us at www.facebook.com/greeneagain!

I recently submitted a question seeking suggestions for a name change for my business. I am looking for a name that reflects my personality and what I do. I received two responses and was hoping for a few more. I added a bit more information about the business so if anyone would like to offer suggestions, I am reopening the discussion.

Thank You!

Have you seen https://www.jpeterman.com/Woodys-Jeans they're full of great approaches that you can mix and match with your own styles and doings. If ever you lack ideas, they're the place to look!

    I love them!

Hi Moriarty! Thanks for the link. Will definitely check them out.

    Best,
    Tywana

I happen to love chalk-paint too. Which is why I thought J Peterman would meet your style.

A friend of mine painted his cottage with it, and used natural tints too. When it rained it changed colour where it was wet! It's wonderful.

Are you still looking for different names? Just because a question is closed doesn't mean it won't be answered if you post something there.

Yes, I am still looking for name suggestions which is why I reopened the question adding a bit more information about my business. I have never used chalk paint on any exteriors but the changing of color sounds pretty cool. I did look at the J. Peterman's site but I must have missed something there because I didn't see anything related to business ideas as you stated. Thanks again.

About J Peterman - the idea for me with that site has nothing to do with business as such - it's their approach. Everything is stories and chit-chat. The point was regarding blogs was that if you took that sort of story-telling attitude, each new piece you do can have its story told. From its dreary start to an interesting and colorful ending!

As to colors (pigments) you can get them at chemists' shops - there's one in Utrecht near where I live. You can just add the pigment in and get stirring! I get my schellack at that shop as dry flakes. That, by the way, is the best primer you can get bar none. It sticks to formica/melamine - even polyurethane. If you have a difficult surface, it's your savior.

Okay, I get it now. As I was reading the page, I did notice how fun and different their approach to selling was. Really neat idea and I think I can benefit from a similar approach. Thank you for sharing and clarifying. Love the painting tips, especially about the schellack. I've never even considered going to a chemist shop. Sounds like I need to add that to my to do list.
By the way, where do you live?
    Thanks again!

I thought you'd like their approach - and the great thing is that you can do it in your own style once you get the measure. It's way better than getting someone in.

I live near Utrecht in the Netherlands at the moment. Since my partner lives in Hamburg, we're looking to buy a house in a prettier part of the world, near Leipzig (we both speak German).
