Yes, I love marketing! I've been in marketing for over 6 years and love the creativity and analysis involved. I've found that marketing is very rewarding and challenging because I work with virtually all functions, and there are so many ways to promote brands/products/services, reach consumers, increase sales, etc. Because marketing plays such a key role in the companies that I've worked for, I get to be more involved and see more of the bigger picture.

I've had many successes as a marketer and also the opposite. What I've found is that the opposite has opened my eyes to different ways of doing things. Some of the more unique things (off the beaten path) that I've tried have ended up generating the best results. I feel fortunate that I'm able to earn a good living at what I love doing!

I came into marketing because of the ultimate promise of what it is, that is to "provide what consumers want, at a place they want to buy it, at a price they want to buy it for".

OK, the original reason for me loving marketing may be a little idealistic, but I have stayed here for 18 years and still love it, and today that core value (above) still drives me today.

Well i am only new to marketing (this year in fact). I was forced to take a marketing course for my degree, i thought it was going to be a boring dry subject. I WAS WRONG. Now i am hooked (and have changed my degree to marketing).

There is so much "stuff" to learn, and it seems fun ( except for the stats :() ) and i hope i will succeed in my career.

Do you love marketing? If so what do you love about it?

Personally, I enjoy meeting and getting to know people over time, and marketing gives me a way to do this. Marketing provides an outlet for creative, organizational, and analytic abilities. Things change so quickly now - - since many of the skills are transferrable across industries, it allows one to promote a variety of technologies.
