Why Is Brinkley Davies A Bad Role Model

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
I wanted to sign this girl up as an ambassador to a new face mask line I have started, but I googled her, and, WOW, not great... Her colourful pictures have gained her almost 100,000 Instagram followers but her reputation has proceeded her — Brinkley Davies, according to wayward followers and former peers, is a "bully", a "liar," a "schemer" and a terrible, awful role model. She's currently the ambassador for GoPro and Reef, and is sponsored by or affiliated with Misfit Shapes. You would think based on this that she is a wonderful person. But supposedly she uses her social media following to fundraise money to pay her personal expenses and spent a solid portion of 2015 and 2016 cyberbullying a Hawaiian conservationist named Natalie Parra, made worse by the fact that Natalie suffers from an auto immune disease and is incredibly unwell.

I only wanted access to her following, as most of the other brands who partner with her and others like her, we don't particularly care about her, her beliefs and so on... but I am worried that partnering with her will rub off badly on my companies reputation. Her reputation is very bad. I am shocked she is even employed at this stage.

How do you choose the ambassadors for your companies?

    Be your own ambassador.

Between the wording of this post and your anonymous name, this sure feels like you are trying to slander Brinkley Davies, not get a question answered.

If you are concerned about this person as a potential brand ambassador don't pursue a relationship. There is no rule that every brand must have an ambassador.

That said, when you post messages like this, smearing a person's reputation, you actually do more damage to your own image than to the intended victim. You could have asked your question without any of the first two paragraphs, and we'd have been far more inclined to respond with our collective experience and suggestions.
