Wordpress Vs. Blogger For Company Blog

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
I just found out that free wordpress includes ads and WP branding. I am hoping to switch from blogger to wordpress but from my understanding, free blogger does NOT include ads or their branding. Does anyone have experience using blogger for a business blog? Thanks in advance.

Avoid all "free" blogging platforms and stump up for your own, hosted domain name. By relying on the Blogger or WordPress platform as a free option, you wind up not owning your own content if, for some reason, you're deemed to have breached their terms of service. In a situation like that you stand to lose everything.

If your website looks "free", your prospective customers think you're not professional. Follow Gary's advice - install Wordpress on your own domain.

A magazine I started and ran a while back used blogspot for a free blog. Worked Ok, but wasn't totally professional and took some modifying to make the blog kind of look like it was integrated into the web site.

The website was one I wrote in bare HTML, not one I used a template or application to make.

If I was to do it now, for a lowish priced option I'd put the website and blog all in WordPress.
