The Term For Using Common Attributes As Usp

Posted by andrew on 125 Points
Hi team, I'm having a mental blank. What is the term given to using a common attribute of a product as a selling point? For example, if I was to advertise a bottle of water as 99% fat free (given that this is standard amongst most waters), that would be called...? (Apart from lazy, manipulative, sh*thouse etc).

Halfway down this page is exactly what I mean: https://www.essentialbaby.com.au/just-for-you/mind-body-fitness/revealed-7-... ('Irelevent Claims' section). What is the marketing term for this?

Thanks team.

Hey Gary, thanks for that, but that's not exactly what I was looking for.
