Font In Logo

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
My company had a logo designed about 4 years ago. Unfortunately, I am unable to find what font was used and so far am unable to match it with anything I currently have on my computer. Any suggestions on what would be the best way to find out what font was used. I already tried with the designer, but unable to locate them.

Thanks for your help

If Cheryl can't identify it, send it to me. I'll ask a few professional designers and see if they know what it is.

Your best bet is to use the human search approach. A person who knows type can usually identify a font faster than the font search routines or the needle-in-haystack brute force approach.

It's also possible that the original designer started with an existing font and modified it by hand. Some of the good designers do that, and they're great at it.

Send me a copy of the logo, i have a google group that has around 200 font lovers, they will know what it is. Email is in my profile.

Also there is a website that you can submit pictures to and it tells you the font used, but i cant remember the link.

Look under my (real) name, it is the third line down before my blurb.
