How are American Gen Alpha teens using AI? Which tech devices do they own? What types of media do they spend the most time consuming?

To find out, researchers at Attest conducted a nationally representative survey in July 2025 among 1,000 US parents with children aged 15-16.

Respondents say their Gen Alpha children are most likely to use AI as a search engine (46% say they use), to help with school work (44%), and for creative projects (39%).

Some 92% of respondents say their Gen Alpha teen has a smartphone, and 74% say their Gen Alpha teen has a gaming console.

Most (55%) respondents say their Gen Alpha teen spends more than three hours scrolling on their cellphone daily.

About the research: The report was based on data from a nationally representative survey conducted in July 2025 among 1,000 US parents with children aged 15-16.
