I'm in, too... looking forward to meeting everyone also.

Much as online forums like this one rock, I love what Shelley Ryan said this week, "…there's something energizing about getting everybody in one city to share ideas and insights together. It's more than just the eye contact, it's about making real, heartfelt connections with people who have common dilemmas and goals. And maybe the cocktails."

    : )

    See you there!

    Hi Val,

I guess I don't have an excuse other than the fact that right now I'm in a cast but that will be off in a few weeks and then they'll put me in a boot...(LOL). Although I'd love to be there and I'm only an hour away it's quite convenient from a location stand point for me but I'm not sure how I'll be walking by then. If things change I'll let you know. If anybodies staying over (beyond the time of the conference) and would like to come to St. Charles "The Palm Springs" of Illinois please let me know. But just wanted to let you know Val I haven't totally ruled it out. I like the conference speakers and of course my KHE Gang...Well maybe I shouldn't use the word Gang so lightly...since Chicago is where Gangsters once ruled. Is there anything I can do for you Val?

As a Chicagoland native, I might just have to arrange a visit while the conference is on ... maybe even spend a few days learning something new about marketing. Could be a great excuse to get back to the Windy City again.

I usually fly in, attend a meeting or two, and fly out. I have only taken the time to enjoy the city a few times over the last 10 years, and I miss it. And the Miracle Mile is better than ever, thanks to Centennial Park. Take time to enjoy Chicago ... whether I'm there or not!

When I heard of this event, I was very interested in attending - This is the type of conference I've been looking for. Unfortunately, I have a pregnancy due date of beginning of November - I think October is cutting it a bit too close to travel out of state. I'm not sure I'm too keen in having a baby thousands of miles away from my family...Although, it would sure add some extra excitement!

I can't wait for next year!

Looking forward to some great insights, ideas, networking and a few cocktails.

Chicago in Oct... brrr that's going to be cold

Shelly's comment is actually right. A high of 72 is great but on the other hand if you were here doing this event in January I'd tell you to forget it!

Actually Chicago has been very nice in October since the Chernobyl explosion back in the 80's. We've had a lot of Indian Summers since then and if you look historically at it you'll see that the winters used to be much much colder a whole lot more snow. It used to be a time many years ago when Chicago would be cold and snow would hit the ground before September was out but that's been many years ago.

Currently Chicago doesn't get ...brrrrr cold until Mid January through Mid February. We very rarely get snow until after Thanksgiving. Although I live an hour and a half outside of Chicago I've spent over 12 years living off the lakefront and Chicago has one of the prettiest downtown areas and the Lake Shore Drive is simply fabulous along the "Magnificient Mile".

There are plenty of places to see and the hotel where the event will be taking place is within walking distances of anything you'd want to see... from the Art Institute, to the Water Tower or the John Hancock or take a cab and see the Sears Tower...I'll say it again as I've lived in this area and traveled abroad I can honestly say Chicago is a great place to be in October. MarketingProfs you've made a great choice and at a great time of the year. If anyone wants to know more shoot me an email and I'll give you my number and tell you about some neat places to go.

    Your Servant,

Ironically, I'll be in Chicago that same week. BUT! I'll be conducting a Focus Group. If I have some 'free' time, I may try to 'track' you all down just to put faces to the names. =oD

I would love the opportunity, but I just joined and it is not in my marketing budget this year.

I really enjoy reading and participating in there forums with all of you. Hopefully, we will network together sometime.

Have fun in the windy city.
