Unique Value Proposition Analysis

We are a small professional services firm specializing in workforce and productivity consulting. We are very well entrenched in several industries, but now wish to take our consulting services to a new industry. We have some track record there, but not extensive.

Our value proposition to this industry needs to be developped in terms of what we can deliver to that marketplace. Short of hiring an expensive ad agency, marketing consultant, is it possible to develop a unique value proposition/positioning that our sales force can use that will resonate with prospects in-house? If so, is there a web site that will guide me, as a marketing communications pro to walk our sales force through a process to develop our value proposition and 30-second elevator pitch?
