In business jargon, dash boards refer to the collection of business metric performance data and its delivery to the computer desktop of teams focused on those metrics. This allows them to react in close to real time to problems and opportunities.

The ideas are tied in with six sigma and balanced scorecard themes in biz management.

    John,

Roger and Jamie have given good explanations for what a dashboard is all about. Specifically related to "Brand" - things that end up on dashboards:
    • Revenue

    • Share

    • Closure rate (from clicks, eMail, direct mail, etc)

    • Media mentions/articles and competitive mentions/articles

    • revenue and/or share by region/territory/market city/distributor/wholesaler/store

    • Industry and/or account monitors (articles, size, growth, trends, etc)

A commercially available product that concentrates on brand dashboards can be seen at:

Disclaimer: I have no experience with this software - I have just seen what they do in terms of brand dashboards and how the data is gathers. I present it only as an example.

    I hope this helps.
