Building Demolition Fundraiser

Posted by Anonymous on 330 Points
Our community just organized a new Urban Renewal Board. In order to start right, we’ve found a project that we feel has a great amount of community support, will be easy to accomplish while being easy on the budget. The project involves the demolition of a building that’s been a community eye-sore for years. We’re working to have the land and building deeded to us and will demolish from there. We plan to make it a real “bang” in order to maximize our marketing efforts. One final step is we’d like to turn it into a fundraiser to generate revenue for the board – something like a reverse “buy a brick” program. However, we’re stuck there – any ideas on what we could “sell???”

Thanks in advance for your help.

Before you "blow it up" you may want to contact the fire department and see if they want to set a fire and put it out for practice. Many FDs do that sort of thing. It would also give your organization some visibility.

You could sell raffle tickets to guess how long it'll take them to put it out.
