Purchase Copyright Music To Use On Website

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My client wants to use a copyright song or instrumental on their website. They want the song "Unforgettable" but will accept an instrumental version of the song to be played as background music on their website. How do I legally purchase the right to do this?

No you aren't allowed. According to the RIAA you have to get permission from the copy right holder (eg either the studio or the artist).

It is even ILLEGAL to rip a CD (that YOU pay for) to your iPod. According the the RIAA it is not covered by "fair use", this is despite what they have been saying for the past couple of years or the argument they used to shut down gloster.

(just gives me ANOTHER reason to not buy CDs and download stuff off the net)
