Strategic Outline For Women's E-clothing Store

Posted by Anonymous on 1600 Points
I posted this question before, but accidentally assigned the incorrect point value. It was supposed to be 625!
-----
We are creating a site that is focused on selling women's designer clothing but at good deals. Many women want to purchase designer clothing, but do not want to pay $200 bucks for a pair of jeans, so we post them when they are on sale. We will be utilizing a number of affiliate programs to display the products on our site. Similar to some of the larger deal sites (that are more focused to gadgets) we will focus just on women's clothing. Some examples are fatwallet.com, slickdeals.net etc...I like fatwallets cash back programs, but not sure how we can integrate and market that to women.

The question is what is the best strategy of launching this new site, and from other woman's point of view, what are some key ingredients the site should have. Take into account that we will just be acting as affiliates, but will be providing the best deals on women's designer clothing on the net.

The name of the site is Shoperella (Cinderella inspired) It was also pretty woman inspired (specifically when Richard took her shopping and the music came on...) We won't be using anything related to Pretty woman of course but this may help you see our mindset as far as what we want to offer.

If you need more clarification please feel free to ask. I would like to keep this open for expert advice and the more advice/ideas the better.

Also, there is another question open for "Women's Clothing needs awesome tagline" please also check that out and offer your suggestions!

Thanks!

Shoperella!

I would think that women would want to view the products from many different angles, and dimensions. Suppose you could have a "model" wear the item on the site, and that there was a gallery of different clothes to dress the model in, when modeling the specific product.

For example, a woman considers buying a pair of black shoes, but wants to get an idea of how that will look with a black top and tan pants......

She could program the e-model to wear that combination while modeling the shoes.

How are women going to learn about your website? How will you market the site/business? Without awareness, you obviously can't get off the ground. What's the plan?

Have you done any research among your prime target audience? Are you sure that if you build it they will come?

Having the answer to these questions will help us help you with a launch plan.

I think that asadwahid has a valid point. If you want to hit the ground running, I suggest a blog campaign. Get a preliminary site up and running. Then invite as many female bloggers to review the site.

BlogHer is a good place to start.

Visit these blogs on a regular basis, and contribute to them. If you're tenacious and service is up to par, then word-of-mouth will soon follow.

Best of luck on your endeavor!
