Tradeshow Promotion Ideas...

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Has anyone seen any cost efficient, tradeshow prmotional ideas that stand out from the crowd? We area a workforce consulting firm trying to make a splash in the retail market. We attend the relevant retail and grocery tradeshows. We do all the correct things in terms of mailing to attendee lists, etc. My question is has anyone seen anything clever to drive traffic to the booth while at the show? Also, anything innovative in terms of follow-up to leads received during the show other than phone follow-up from the sales rep?

That stuff they call carpet at trade shows doesn't do much for me - after a day of walking, my feet and knees always ache.

You might invest in a very thick pad for under your carpet. (For an example, go to any IBM booth at any show - you will feel like you are walking on air). Once people come into your booth, they won't want to leave. (Along a similar line, one trade show booth I remember had two people giving foot massages. They had quite a line waiting.)

Regarding follow-up - the statistics that I heard about 7 or 8 years ago is that 50% or more of people who are interested will buy - within 18 months. So, when you plan to follow up, plan for the long term.

    Good luck!
