Try www.google.com. Seach for the companies of interest.

    Good Luck!

I guess I'm a bit confused by your question. If you are saying that you want to look at visual examples - can't you just walk down to the local supermarket, and look around?

But if you want to understand the underlying strategy, so that you can duplicate the success of these big companies, I'm not sure that simply looking at examples will help. And I don't think this forum can spoon-feed you everything you will need to know. You might need to get and read a few college level textbooks on the subject. I'm sure there are some design folks here who can reccomend some excellent sources to get you started.

I think your best bet on finding visual examples of point of sale material is to grab a camera and go shopping...I don't think you will find much on the Internet.

I used to work as a Marketing/Brand Manager in consumer package goods (cookies, candy). Some considerations with POS were:

    - brand goals for the display (in other words, what did we want to accomplish wrt to brand identity).
    - distribution goals (i.e. what did we want to accomplish wrt channels and number of retail outlets).
    - pricing
    - display placement (is it for a special, off-shelf, or "normal" display)
    - permanent or temporary

Also, note the design elements wrt the brand's identity, "personality", and positioning as well as how design helps accomplish POS goals.

If you try to answer these questions while looking at actual POS displays you should come up with some insights.
