Branding/promo Item Ideas

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Much like a world class hairstylist who can't do her own hair, or a great manicurist whose nails are never done, I am an excellent marketer of other people's products and services, but when it comes to marketing my marketing consulting firm, I need a little help.

I have buyer's info for several larger companies, including Macy's, Nordstrom, Coca Cola Disney, among others.

I want to know if I can get some ideas on something creative to send to them, to get their attention. I was thinking of sending some shamrock seeds (let us grow your ((insert name of program)). I know that's corny, but that's why I'm reaching out for help

I've already made contacts with these people, I just wanted something catchy to get us meetings. We can help them with their marketing and pr, and promoting their special events.

The name of my company is Soulstice and our logo is a flame.

Really, for you to get in front of these contacts-- call them. These kind of ideas are fun and work with some types of selling-- but these buyers get hit with this stuff daily. Sell the appointment and the appointment only. Bring to them what you can do for them. There are plenty of great products out there that don't get on anyone's shelf. Bring a strong plan of sales and profits. And your initiative to pick up the phone and be persistant enough to track them down.

Those large companies have ongoing contracts with marketing and PR companies. With a bit of checking you can find out with whom.

You chances will be for specific local programs for which you will want them to know your local contacts and knowledge will be better than a national firm.
    Good luck,

Thanks for your help with this so far. To clarify, we already have some great ideas to present to these companies, and because we are Women & Minority owned, we have a good chance of getting in under their MBE/WBE programs.

We've made contact, and in most cases, have met with them face to face. But, much like a job interview, sometimes you have to do something extra special to get you in the door, after the interview, besides sending a card. And, most of them prefer that you not call, just send e-mails. So, putting something in the mail that would brand our company in their heads would be a great follow up. But, I don't want to go the mugs or pens route. I wanted to do something extra special.

I just need some ideas on what I can send to them to get our company on their brains.

Send an ethic doll holding your business card/note. The doll will reinforce your Women & Minority owned status, and the package will get opened.

Here's one for you that I haven't seen yet. WEBINAR. Everyone like convenience correct? Find a webinar service like www.gotowebinar.com or www.webex.com.

Put a presentation together and get your clients and prospective clients to set 30-45 min out of their time to log in and view the live webinar for free. This can be a cost effective way to reach ALL of your prospects at one time.

Everyone can rsvp for your webinar so you know who should be "attending." You can record the webinar for those that did not call in and link to the live presentation. Which also means that you can have a link to that recorded webinar on your website for any future prospects.

If you have a dynamic presentation that is clear and concise you should pull in clients in no-time. Hope this helps...

    Cheers!
