Writing A Book On Web-optimisation For Marketers!

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Guys,
I am thinking of writing a book targeted towards traditional marketers who would like to get some grasp on web-marketing/optimisation. There are a lot of SMEs who are always in dilemma whether to outsource web-marketing , or, hire a staff for in-house work.
I would like to propose a way where small firm managers can understand, a) potential and necessesity of web-marketing, b) expertise required, c) step by step breakdown of typical web-marketing plans, d) decisions on outsourcing or in-house and how.

These are the basic ideas I would like to work around in the book. I need your suggestions and positive ideas, on content and title. Please also advie f the project is worth the effort?

    Thanks jcrooks,
i have done some research to see what other books/ebooks are available, but to my surprise nobody has targeted this paticular set of readers:-marketers/managers in SMEs trying to understand web optimisation.
Im just looking to rainstorm content and title ideas further...

Ask the people who are likely to want this material. Do online surveys. Find forums where your demographic are likely to hang out. Write articles in magazines that they read. Before you spend time & money creating the material, find out if there's a market for it, how much they'd pay for it, and if they'd believe your book. It's possible you have the right idea, but the wrong format. Consider online eBooks, paid forums, etc. Don't forget to see what people are searching for online.

    HI Jay,
Thats what I am doing here: researching the market, as I believe people from target market must come to this forum, though most regular readers here are experts but there might still be some frequenting to learn and know more about web optimisation.
Can you suggest a list of places, forums etc. online I could go and do my research?

The challenge you have is that many people on the web are slowly being educated that web is free - there are a growing number of people that will not pay!!

if you have an outline - submit it to book publishers, I am sure it will see at airports and stations etc..

    good luck
