What Color Or Colors Should I Paint My Resturant?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have a family owned restaurant in Wisconsin. It is in a small town, and my family and I have some ideas of what we want, but I'm not sure if this is the route to go. Are main menu pretty much will consist of homemade pizza, garlic bread, apps, fish fry. We are gearing towards families, working class and anyone else who wants some good food. We were thinking Burgundy red, creams and browns. Wine and Vine. A place were you feel very comfortable at and a place you want to come back to. If we do go with these colors, does anyone have any suggestions on how I should do it? Red on some walls? Ceiling? Please let me know what you think. Thank you!

Talk to a color consultant to get some specific color advice. Paint is cheap, and done well, can make a huge difference to a space.

It's funny, I was thinking of the same colors - they sound great. If cost is an issue, then instead of getting an interior decorater, invest in a professional "stager." These people set homes, restaurants up for the sole purpose of appealing to the public at a lot lesser cost. I've have found that it's not so much about the colors, although important - it's more about the staging, and how everything is brought together, how welcoming it is.

Two toned walls are very popular right now. One wall burgundy, and an opposing wall creme, although again, you may want the stager to choose which wall will have what color on it as that is also important.

I use the tool below - although it is built for web colors -- paints easily can be created that very closely match:

Look at the colors used by big chains (McDonald, KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut). Generally the use of red is associated with food and is quite visible. I would never use black or purple.
Green could be considered if you are selling organic food or healthy food.
