Experienced In Marketing Services To Hospitals?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello, I've been trying to promote my educational/training programs on my own, and have signed up with a national continuing education provider. As they have hundreds of classes to promote, they don't really give as much exposure to my programs and have only received a couple of assignments from them.

I would like to find someone who has experience in marketing services to healthcare, and if they would do the marketing for me, we can split the fees.

What I would like to do is have someone to work with me on developing a marketing strategy, locate and contact target hospitals, and basically do what the national provider is doing.

I would like suggestions on finding someone who would be interested in working with me, and any thoughts on working effectively with a marketer. Thanks.

Marketers in the Medical and Healthcare profession like to think that their work is unique -- however it follows the same traditional marketing principles of any other market. It is mainly built on developing relationships with key decision makers -- so someone with good Business to Institution skills (a people person) is key. Also a degree is essential considering you are dealing with clients that have MDs. If you can find a ex-practioner then you are really able to get your foot in the door because doctors listen to other doctors.

Hi Levon, yes, I haven't thought of that, having an ex-practitioner or even a pharmacist, not necessarily with experience in marketing educational programs, but who already has an ongoing relationship with a hospital would be great. However, it would be difficult to find one, I think.

    Hi, thanks, Rich. I will.

Thanks, it might be something I would consider at some point.

At this time, I think I am looking to work with someone who would do this on the side, maybe, but since I'm not familiar with the marketing world, I'm not even sure if this is ever done.

I wonder if someone who has worked on marketing for not-for-profit healthcare related organizations might be able to help?

I just thought of another angle. What do you think of agencies that promote speakers? Although I'm not a professional speaker, like a motivational speaker, does anyone have any thoughts on promoting educational programs through a speaker's bureau?

Or a finder's fee for recommending the educational programs? Do you think someone with a marketing background would be interested in doing this?
