Money Transmission Product In India

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
My company is introducing a cheap and fast money transmission system mainly for migrant labour in big cities in India for sending small amounts of money quickly and cheaply to their families in villages. I need a brand name that will be catchy, and capture the imagination as well as make its meaning clear to the user, (I'll need to transelate it into the local language as well.)

Unless it's really simple, translation in local language may turn out to be quite a challange.

    Hello Radhika,

Since you are targeting migrant labor my opinion is you will need a strong correlation with the vernacular language. Another way is to use words that have become part of daily life like "connect" (telephone connection) or use root words which are usually from Sanskrit.

To give it a shot: Rupee Live (live as in real-time)

    Just my 2cents.

using an english name is pointless since almost 95% won't speak it let alone read it

i'm assuming that the majority of your target demographic is north indian / hindi speaking

if not, its too difficult to come up with names that make sense in multiple regional languages
