Coffee At Network Of Independent Conv. Stores

Posted by tomrlawson on 250 Points
Looking to brand a private label for coffee beverages available at a network of independently owned convenient stores and gas stations. Mostly owned by mom and pops and in secondary and tertiary markets..even rural. Customers are not the starbucks types. Was thinking of employing a good ole boy campaign (mostly collaterol) such as Bartles and James: playing with name: "Buck & Goode" Coffee Co.

Do you have an opinion as to whether this would be a good/marketable brand name? Why or why not?

    Quick observation....
Buck and Good can very easily sound like F-n good - I don't think that is what you want.

Now you might go to something like:
    Darn good coffee
    Hott Coffee
    Good to Go Coffee
    Now THAT'S Coffee

I'll keep my thinking cap on .

    Good Luck!

If wanting to employ a good ole boy campaign, maybe something along the lines of ...

Good ole Buck's coffee (you could also employ a hunting theme playing off Bucks and/or flannel theme, too.)

Or even "Goode" ole Buck's Coffee (playing off name)

    Just a thought. Good luck.

The brand name is something that can be tested via a quick market research study, using a small sample of your target audience. Since the name is (presumably) going to be a significant element in your marketing plan, I don't think I'd leave it to chance ... or to the collective wisdom of even the smartest marketing minds at this forum.

I'd go to the target audience.

You're asking us to guess what would appeal to a target audience that is probably a little different from most of us. We can make some guesses, but if the question is as important as I think it is, you'd be making a mistake to count on us for your final answer. Better to find a way to ask your prospective customers.

If you need some help with this contact me offline and I'll suggest a few specific options for you.

I always thought somebody should go contrary to the whole foo-foo coffee craze.

Here are some names I admire:
    Manly Man's Strong Arm Roast
    Truck Stop Rockbottom Blend
    Campfire Coffee
    The Farmer's Freind
    Uncle Bucks Widow-maker mix

Have fun, make a bunch of money and buy me a cup of coffee
