Activation Ideas

Require immediate response within 23rd December. Hello everyone! i need some help if it’s possible for anyone to provide. I m working on the activation for an air conditioner and a washing machine. Basically the air conditioner’s main target market are upper middle class to upper class (men), and its main features are the built-in air purifying system with it and also the unique technology which reduces electricity consumption up to a certain percentage, and also the new sensor which detects airborne germs and purify them. And about the washing machine’s target market are upper middle class to upper class (working) women. It has some unique features which increases the washing power up to 10%, reduces germs from the clothes up to 99.99% and reduces electricity consumption up to 40%. So, now i am having a problem in creating new activation ideas for both the products (individually). Can anyone help me and give me any good ideas possible?

    Who is your target audience? What part of the world are you in? (Saying that you're targeting upper middle to upper class men is too broad. What continent? What psychographic profile?)

    You waited about 6-8 months too long to ask the question if you really need the answer by December 23. Why the urgent rush?

    Do you have a marketing plan? What did you expect to do when you developed the plan?

    We can probably be helpful, but you have to give us more information and more time. Start now to plan for June-July 2009.

    I agree that this sounds like something you should be planning pretty far in advance for a professional and effective marketing campaign, however if you are looking for something you can do fast, go virtual. People are not stupid and these days, most people research any major purchase online prior to making a decision. They are looking for manufacturer information, customer reviews and advice from the experts. Everyone wants a guarantee they are getting the best value for their money.

    1. Make sure your website is extremely professional looking, informative and most of all, not boring.

    2. Be sure to have testimonials - Find real people who use your product and post their reviews. If you can get these posted on other websites in addition to your own, it will add credibility.

    3. Participate in blogs or forums that your target audience may participate in while researching their buying decision. Offer your "expert" advice on issues that concern them. Do not make these too self promoting - offer value and insight.

    4. Submit your products for review by online forums that search for the best new gadgets.

    Most important will be your credibility so do anything you can to build that up.

    Thank you every one for giving response within such short time. Now to answer all of your one common query is that whether it's the right time to promote such products like air conditioner and washing machine? I also know the fact that to promote such products specially air conditioner is out of question. But, what can i say? it's what my agency wants me to do. And they wanted me to give them two good activation ideas each for both the products within two days. They were also asking about doing roadshows where i m having a problem of how can i incorporate the target customer with the product through the roadshow. I mean it's comparatively easy if the target market is young people but where my target market is matured, working people i am really finding this hard to associate these two products with the customer through roadshow. So, please forget about the time when i'll do my campaign, as it's not in my hand right now. I just need to give any kind of promotion ideas each for washing machine and the air conditioner which can be achieved using moderate budget and which has a high mileage as well as the potentiality to boost up the sales of the products.
