Link Building

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Hi

I am new to SEO and am wondering how we go about starting to link build?

I am currently using Hub Spot software to develop our SEO and we currently have over 450 inbound links but how do i link back?

Thanks

Brad

    Brad,

You mentioned using Hubspots website grader. Have you also checked out their 4 grades of link building article?

Just spit balling a few ideas here:

You might expand on the Ask Laura section of the website, perhaps turning it into a blog where Laura can help people pick out wardrobes, and muse about the latest fashions. People will be more apt to link back to interesting content rather than bland ecommerce pages.

You're on Facebook, great! Maybe create a FB application that allows recipients to dress photos of themselves or friends in your clothing. That's a riff off the website https://www.yearbookyourself.com

Hope that helps get the ball rolling.

Links are fine for helping you increase your page rank, but ultimately you need to focus more on your conversions than links. Focus on conversions before you spend the time to build traffic, otherwise you'll have a lot of eyes, but few sales.

First, I would agree that 450+ links is not bad, and you probably want to make sure you have good landing pages setup to drive conversions. Since you are using HubSpot, you probably know you can build landing pages easily using the HubSpot software.

Second, the best way to do linkbuilding is to start a blog and create content on a regular basis. If you have content that is worht linking to, you will get more links.

Third, if you are really focused on linkbuilding, then check out these resources. (These links will only work for HubSpot customers, or people on a HubSpot free trial)

Here is a link to a HubSpot linkbuilding webinar:

And here is a link to the section of the HubSpot methodology dealing with off-page SEO (including linkbuilding):

You might also try posting this question in the HubSpot customer-only forums (https://Success.HubSpot.com) - log in with your normal HubSpot username and password. The HubSpot experts monitor those forums pretty actively.

    Agreed with Jay.

Traffic that doesn't covert to sales is pointless. Check out grokdotcom.com for advice on increasing conversion rates.
