License Rights - Manufacturer Or Retailer

Posted by Mkter on 125 Points
Need an expert with License Rights & permissions etc...
I'm in the process of developing a NEW Tween Accessory website of Fun, Trendy, Creative accessories. Long story short...- items are being developed and there are a number of 'popular' names/logos that are of the Disney, Nickelodeon, CartoonNetwork etc. that appeal to Tweens and these names would be very popular to create as part of the styles of accessories that will be on the website. That said, the manufacturer is stating to have 'rights' to use/replicate these known logo/names and that all is fine. Does the site owner/retailer have to get rights as well? - Help!!!

    NuCoPro,
This is my position exactly...That the manufacturer has some access whether rightly so or not to ultimately re-create these logos/images etc.
Well, yes they are in China, they have stated to me when asked for documentation even in pdf. format just to verify, they said they could not show me because they do not share these documents... I'm guessing they had an issue and someone maybe duplicated their doc. I just can't imagine that being the case if it's a legal document. My concern is so many are re-creating these logos/images etc. are they all truly just taking the risk? Thoughts? Is there an official site where one can check Disneys 'approved manufacturers' - does it even exist...
