Name For New Orleans Flavor Company

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am starting a business to market flavorings and dry beverage mixes to retail gourmet shops. I need a company name and logo. Since New Orleans is famous for flavor and food I want something that has a New Orleans feel. Any suggestions are appricated.

Let's start with a clear definition of your primary target audience and what they need/want in flavorings and beverage mixes. What are their attitudes toward New Orleans in that regard?

Do you have a business/marketing plan? If not, you should probably start there before you end up with a name and tagline that are off-strategy.

Names and taglines are quite researchable once you define the target audience clearly. If I were starting a consumer products company (like yours) I would probably start with some simple market research to learn about my target audience. What makes them tick? How do they make purchase decisions? Where do they learn about new products? Who are the really heavy users? What about the thought leaders?

The name doesn't come first. The marketing strategy and plan do. A name that doesn't support and communicate the strategy is a waste of time and money ... and perhaps the downfall of the whole business. (Stranger things have happened.)

I know this isn't what you expected, but it would be tragic if we threw a bunch of names at you, you picked one, and it turned out to be wrong.

Good luck. Let us know if we can be of further help.

Thank you for your response. The target market is high end gourmet and speciality stores. I am a food and beverage technologist and currently own and operate a manufacturing plant focused on foodstuffs and beverage mixes for institutional customers. Everything I manufacture is formulated according to cost restraints.

The business model for the proposed gourmet market will include unique flavors and beverage mixes that are famous in New Orleans. Formulations will have no cost restraints with the objective of creating the best product possible. Praline, Banana'a Foster, Peach Melba and Wedding Cake are examples of the liquid flavors. These flavors can be used in pasterys, beverages, ice cream or any desert. The dry beverage mixes are frozen cocktail mixes such as Mango Daiquiri, Pina Colada, Strawberry Daiquiri, etc. These drink mixes are ultra premimum and do not exist in the market due to the ingredient cost. The target market is consumers with expendable funds, a market simular to "Godiava Chocolate". Initial marketing stragity will be gourmet shops that tourist frequent in the French Quarter.

New Orleans is famous throughout the world for its food, Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street. It is highly marketable and my focus is to convey a New Orleans image in the logo and in advertising.

Hopefully I have clarified my target market well enough. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

New Orleans is rich with history and names to pull from. I would rather give you a resource than throw a bunch of names at you. Here's one site that i found, but there all all sorts of links you can find via google search. It's all about research.

    https://www.inetours.com/New_Orleans/French_Quarter_History.html

Check the history, street names, building names, artists, etc, etc. You'll surely find something that strikes you.

Royal St. Seasoning Co. is one example. Just pull a name from the area and see how it fits.

    Happy hunting.

New Orleans should push something out of you.
It's like Zataran. I had never heard the term, but now I think "New Orleans" when I hear it. I agree with aaardvrk, do a little research and see what you get.
    Good Luck!
