Need A Name For A Maintenance Company

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I own a property management company named Perimeter Properties. I also started a maintenance division that I have not been advertising and I have been referring to as Perimeter Works. PW does general handyman-type repairs just for the rental properties we manage at this point. I would like to grow the company to include carpet cleaning services and would also like to advertise to the general public. What would be a good name to use? When advertising Perimeter Properties I sometimes i use the tagline "Get into the Loop" or "Best in the Boro," which doubles as a website. The company is in a college town called Statesboro. I could get a lot of business from rental property owners, as I do now, but don't want to rule out residential or commercial work for the future.

Not sure I'm any good at this, but perhaps these ideas will generate others.

    Rental Restoration Service
    Landlords Handymen
    Hope for your Home
Clean It Up (We will Clean It Up for you.)

    Good Luck,

(Aside: many of the title words you're using for your website have misspellings. Is this intentional?)

If you have a good name in Statesboro, then I see no reason not to use Perimeter Works (or Perimeter Maintenance) as a name.

You May Try Upon These Names:
    "Perimeter Prospects"
    "Maintainance Giants"
    "Clean People"
    "A 2 Z Maintainance"
    "Apex Works"

    Thanks

Ali, you're on the right track in considering your brand; this is a vital element to help your company prosper through change, especially changing economic times.

However, to strongly position your company to do that, you need to know that "branding" goes far beyond a logo or tagline. These are expressions of branding, but not branding in and of themselves. Therefore, you first must start by examining two areas: you, as the entrepreneur and your customers.

When examining yourself as the entrepreneur, you should reflect upon a few questions, such as: "What is it that I do differently than my competitors?" "What makes me unique among my competitors?" and "What is it that drives me in my business, that makes me get up in the morning, that is my passion?"

And then, you should survey your customers as to their views as to what you bring to them, how you solve their problems, why they like buying from you.

Put those two together, and you can begin to understand the foundation of branding: your "UPV," or "Unique Promise of Value."

Then -- and only then -- can you brainstorm a company name, your messaging, determine your marketing strategy, etc.

Thanks for your help. This gives me a lot to think about. I'm still a little unsure though. We always consider ourselves to be the prompt and professional management company, but I just don't know whether to tie in the other company to the name Perimeter or not. Seems like I would get double the benefit for my advertising dollar if I did. ButI understand the point about keeping separate entities.
