    Dear Voice,

What are you the voice of? What exactly are you promoting?
To whom? Where? Which problems do you solve? And why do
you solve them in the way you do?

What other sites have you looked at that you admire, like, love,
or loathe? What does your current website look like? Could you provide a link?

I'm asking these questions because the term "business services for lead generation" is a little ... er ... wooly.

To get the best answers to your question you need to be more specific.

    Voice-

A good website is one that reaches its customers and performs its objectives (conversions, whatever). The best way to achieve this is to identify the different personas in your audience and what you want to achieve from each of them, then try to make it easy.

If you're interested in an example of a 'good' (i.e. high-performing) B2B website and how it got there, read the follow blog posting about RightNow Technologies' website:

    https://www.webinknow.com/2008/12/persona-focused-web-site-leads-to-4x-conv...

The website itself is at https://www.rightnow.com/

One of my clients drew inspiration from what they had done in their own web resdesign.

    Good luck.

First you need to figure out your target market. Once you do that, you can design a certain 'feeling' for your site, simple organizational navigation and then great SEO info. I am obviously biased, but we have been nominated for the best Art Gallery website in the US and Canada for the 2009 NICHE awards...basically the highest awards in the gallery trade biz. Check our out at:

    www.spectrumartandjewelry.com

Once you have developed your target audience, your SEO keywords, designs, everything should be branded around this. Hope this helps and good luck!

    Dear Voice,

All right. I like the sites below because they are clearly designed, well written, relationship focused, and orientated towards the success of the reader. The last one on the list is Richard Branson's

    www.bradfallon.com
    www.marismith.com
    www.jackhumphrey.com
    www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/
    www.harveymackay.com
    www.entrepreneur.virgin.com

    I hope this helps you.

Though it is still a work in process, we have just launched our new web site:
    https://www.excellira.com/

We have taken a contrarian's approach by delivering a minimalist design with few gadgets to distract from the message. The important ones are still there, they've just been carefully packaged. Our competitors typically load their web pages up with distracting elements that detract from the message.

The layout was conceived based upon eye tracking studies and a great deal of thought was given to the location of each element. We're breaking some rules because, well, it's good to test new ideas.

Instead of what one of us likes, look at what the traffic says about a site: https://alexa.com will allow you to search for sites by keyword, and then sort them by rank.

Alexa numbers are easily gamed so take them with a grain of salt.

This is a wonderful opinion. The things mentioned are unanimous and needs to be appreciated by everyone If you're interested in an example of a 'good' (i.e. high-performing) B2B website and how it got there, read the follow blog posting about RightNow Technologies'

I took a quick look at the lawyer directory site and one thing immediately stood out. You could quickly determine what the site offered. Why do so many sites make this so difficult?
