Swak

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I want to use the acronym SWAK as part of my branding as a Realtor. Knowing that the SWAK is a bit racy and fun I want the wording that it represents to be polished and professional to balance out the effect. We've toyed with Service With Absolute Knowledge but that sounds so cheesy. The K really seems to be throwing us off and we can't come up with a good set of words or statement. Any ideas?

Been there, thought that and still want to work with SWAK.

Thank you for your responses, but I'm looking for suggestions for words to try not judgment calls on if it is appropriate or not. To each his own.

Leaving the corporate world means leaving the rules behind that belong to someone else and bringing only the ones that work for me. There are just as many people out there that I DONT want to work with as there are those that may not want to work with me due to my choice of branding and that is intentionally part of the point.
    So, does anyone have anything?

    Cheryl-

    Okay, if you're in it for fun and for promoting your real estate brand, how about;

    Smart, Winning and Knowledgeable

    Good luck with it!

Phil, I might acquiesce and save the SWAK for my staging component and use Staging With A Kick since staging is a commonly accepted creative endeavor that would lend itself to more flexibility in market perception. I'm really stuck on the idea of having the brand represent both of my occupations since they are tied together. My husband who enjoys reading over my shoulder likes ajanzer’s response (thank you), but I find smart and knowledgeable to be so close in definition that I’m not sure if that’s going to work. I’m going to sleep on all of the contributions everyone has taken the time to offer and see what I wake up with. Thank you all for your support so far, I appreciate your input.

    Cheryl:

To reduce the cutesy dissonance of a sentence made out of the "SWAK" acronym, how about making each letter stand for a benefit-oriented word? Like:

    Service
    Willingness
    Aptitude
    Knowledge

Each letter could even stand for more than one word, like:

    Serious experience
    Working for you
    Able and
    Knowledgeable

The "WA" could also stand for "Willing & Able", etc. Mix and match these and other ideas and you could have something.

Try thinking outside of the 'sentence box' and the SWAK will be with you!

    Dear Cheryl,

I applaud your desire to stick to your acronym no matter what, and far be it from me to change your mind.

However, I urge you to consider that as much as the name SWAK might appeal to you, you're not buying it, your customers are. Have you, by any chance, ASKED your clients what they think of your choice?

Does it ring true with them? Does it hold appeal for them? Does is sound odd to them? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, or even, maybe, then you might want to consider amending your choice.

Consumers are overwhelmed with names for this and that, and it might serve you better to simply state what you're offering up front and leave it at that.

Again, I'm not telling you to change your mind. Before you sink too much more effort into it, I'm urging you to see things from your customer's viewpoint.

    I hope this helps you.

    Hi there,

I was drawn to this post, after seeing the word "SWAK" in capitals. In my home language - Afrikaans, the word "swak" actually means "extrmely poor" or "bad taste"...

I know that you are not working in South Africa, but I just thought I'd tell you something interesting...
