Well as far as i know... Ive seen some funeral consultancy companies working in Europe, USA and Canada. These are funeral management companies that handle everything from booking a grave in the cemetery to church services.

these firms have their own marketing tactics and philosophies and they have their won marketing teams that promote their organization.

Other words funeral marketing is meant to promote the services of a funeral management or consultancy firm.

Besides, i don't know whether it happens or not, but FMCG companies or durable good manufacturers can utilize funerals by placing their products on tables of the attendees like if food is served at a funeral then some sauce manufacturer can place their product on the serving table (in partnership with the funeral organizer).. just an idea that even funerals if utilized properly and carefully can provide an effective communication tool but this will work depending on which consumer you are targeting.

    Hope it helps.

More and more we're seeing funeral directors market their businesses as more than "the last goodbye." Many are marketing funeral homes as a place where families can host parties in honor of the deceased and celebrate their lives. Others are promoting that pets are welcome.

The more they set themselves apart from the gloomy enterprises we've known funeral businesses to be via marketing, the better chance they believe they have to attract new and referral business.

-- I just saw are report last week where some cemetery chapels are marketing themselves as wedding venues. Wow...
