Ideas Needed For Golf Outting

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
We will be sponsoring hole 16 at a golf outting that will involve different builders in the area. We are looking for ideas for games to play at the hole. I work for a general contractor and if we could tie in something about building, that would be ideal. Any ideas??

Each builder sponsors a hole. Instead of beer cart, have each builder construct a beer bar, a different theme on each hole, best of outing wins????

Aside best-of-hole, do a charity donation auction. Participates bid on closest ball - to win and donate

The builders are all putting on their own game for each hole, I'm looking for something specific to one hole. We are unable to serve beer because of liability reasons. The golf course is providing beverages, we just are unable to give anything alcoholic out. As far as the cards, I'm a little concered with this just because of time constrictions as well as if there is any wind the day of the tournament. Otherwise I think it's a great idea!

assuming that the promo activity is not taking place while people are playing the hole (since it would be distracting) . . .

Make it a team effort. Create a bunch of wooden pin flags and then jigsaw them in different shapes so that every shape borders on every other shape for each individual flag . . . making a unique fit.

No two flags are cut alike

Put them all in a bin and have people take one piece.

They then look for the other pieces for that flag (lots of people trying to fit pieces together)

First one (or first X) that creates a whole flag wins something.

further to my post . . . if you paint your logo or the hold number or some text on the flags it will make it easier to create unique pieces

Buy some hole in one insurance (if it's not a par three, move the tee markers up till it is) and offer a Back Hoe or Tractor or some other high end building tool for a hole in one. Staffing the hole with good looking, freindly and memorable folks is imperative.

go to www.holeinoneking.com/hole-in-one-insurance.html for information on hole in one insurance.

    Good Luck

I have been thinking about your project and I have a few questions.
    - Will you have a team working at the hole, or will you just leave the game out for people to play as they go through?
    - What type of people do you expect to play in the tournament? (Job titles, ages, etc.)
    - Does everyone take it really serious or is it a more laid back tournament?

Answers to these would help to provide a little direction as to the type of game that might work best for you.
