New Effective Therapy Sounds Too Good To Be True

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
TRE is a relatively new therapy that helps people to let go of past negative feelings that keep triggering and tricking them into thoughts and behaviours they don't really want.

The problem is that it is "too good", as it works in only three sessions, with no need for any delving into the past, no analysis at all, no drugs, no religious beliefs, just a gentle guided meditation is used to ease people through the process of letting go of their old negative feeling patterns. I have benefited from TRE myself.

Because it sounds too easy, people are very suspicious of TRE.

Maybe my website isn't good enough. Any tips would be welcome.

No...your website seems to say what you believe.

But to say it's not religious is not true. You may lose some people there.

Remove the "Made on a Mac" at the footer for many of your pages - it makes your site look homemade.

First, why not list some of the more common symptoms you've been able to help (and those that this therapy isn't a good match for).

Because the therapy is magically different, you do need to help people to understand more about the process (from their perspective). Is it like EMDR therapy (https://helpguide.org/mental/emdr_therapy.htm)? Is there a body of articles/research done describing it? You need to greatly educate/build trust - people have more at stake than simply losing money on the therapy.

Finally - why should people trust you? The therapy helped you - that could be because the therapist was great, the therapy itself was great, or you were ready for a change. But just because you've been cured doesn't mean you have the skill/technique to help others. Make us believe in you.
