Appropriate "welcome Packet" Gifts?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
We are looking at new ways to welcome ("on-board") new clients of ours.

We will be sending our clients both an electronic "Welcome Kit", giving them all the ins and outs of what we do and how they can utilize our services.

Additionally, we would like to send something PHYSICAL in the mail to them - something for a professional to have on their desk that reminds them to use our services.

Any suggestions on good, quality "give-aways" or desk tools that won't break the bank?

    what is the price point?

A gift one of my clients give-- and they grab-- is a tablet-- like 3 x 4", "flags" on one side, and stickies on the other. You know the flags I am talking about the ones to flag a page mark.

Another great gift is a plant-- I can't find the site right now, but they emboss your company's name on the leaf! Its like $21. I advised a client to sent it with the note "come grow with me". If that fits your price point, I'll research more.

What service(s) does your company offer? Ideally a gift should connect what you do with your client.

Are your clients "desk people". Some are not.

I've worked with www.onlythebestgifts.com in the past but you might have a budget problem

This wasn't the site I used, but I found another one on the plant. https://www.epromos.com/browse/Ne1-N11578-4294966463.html

    and its much cheaper!

The logobean plants are pretty cool. There are also plenty of plants available where your logo is on the planter, which could help you make a more lasting impression.
    Bamboo Plant: https://teamworld.logomall.com/ProductDetail/ProductDetail.aspx?id=7857786&...
    Small Bonsai: https://teamworld.logomall.com/ProductDetail/ProductDetail.aspx?id=7857791&...

If you like the plant concept but want to spend even less, there are also Seedcard products available. These have the seeds embedded in the paper, which is then planted. They come in lots of different forms such as bookmarks, ornaments or even envelopes. The products are low-cost and since they are light & flat, you can mail them for the cost of a standard letter as well.

Another idea is a USB Drive. You can load your emailed presentation right onto them and even if the client erases the presentation, your logo is on the drive so they will still remember you. Bonus - you can choose the amount of memory you want based on your budget. You can even have a custom style created that is extremely specific to your business:

One of my suppliers brought in a sample of one the other week that Budweiser did in the past - it looked just like this DHL drive, except the liquid inside looked just like beer (bubbles & all) and there were little bud bottles floating around. Brilliant!

If you tell us what industry you are in and what your budget is, it would definitely be easier to send you more specific ideas that would better fit your business in particular. It would also help to know a little more about your clients, as they are the recipients and it should be geared to their general needs & interests.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone for your great suggestions so far. Much appreciated.

We're thinking $8-10 per client. We're in the HR/Consulting world.
