This question is too broad to answer in a brief forum entry. It would take volumes to answer. Can you be more specific?

    Sir, to be more specific..

Affiliate marketing is plagued by various kinds of scams. Thus the trust in it is dwindling. One of the primary reasons is the lack of a common code of conduct. So what can be done to make affiliate marketing more credible and accountable?

    Dear archana645,

If you’re referring to online affiliate marketing and Cost Per Acquisition techniques, this area of marketing is no more plagued by various kinds of scams than any other aspect of marketing.

"Thus the trust in it is dwindling.” Based on what evidence? Tell this to Mike Hill and numerous other online marketers who have made millions of dollars from CPA systems!

If you’re going to blast an industry with a wild-eyed, shot gun statement of doom, gloom, and thievery, present some solid facts to back up your argument and THEN ask a question.

@archana645, I agree with Gary. There are excellent, ethical affiliate marketers out there and the converse is also true. This could be stated about any industry however.

As to policing the affiliate landscape, that is and should be left to the vendors and aff. networks. Their affiliates should market in a manner that is true to their brand and the only entities capable of determining that is the vendor, aff network, and their customers. If there are a lot of scammers out there it's because there are a lot of poorly managed aff. campaigns or the vendors are also lacking integrity.

Keep in mind, most aff. platforms have strict guidelines and the aff. marketers are typically legally bound to those terms.

We use several different affiliate networks very successfully.

We get great results and we have had no problems with fraud since we verify all the traffic that arrives on our sites.

We typically pay CPA not CPM so the affiliates are motivated to earn the commissions and place our banner ads and shoot our emails to strongly targeted prospects.

All the affiliats that we work with are getting more professional everyday and they are coming up with great ideas to improve the business regularly.

I don't see any need for any kind of 'regulatory intervention'. This would kill the creativity of the business.

In broad terms we are spending about 1/4 million dollars per month with 8 or 9 affiliate companies and this will grow further next year.

    Good luck

    Matthew
