The best possible solution would be delivered by a marketing professional conversant with the area where you have planned to start your new offices (you haven't said where those offices will be opened).

With the expense involved in opening an office, it makes good business sense to be set aside part of your budget to getting proper marketing support well before you plan to open. Marketing starts with the development of your new product or service - not as an afterthought. You should be involving a professional marketer before you even select your new office location - otherwise, how can you be sure you are opening offices in the right spot?

It is very unlikely you will get the help you need through a free template. But for what it's worth, you are welcome to access this business and marketing planning template here.

Alternatively, post a confidential project through MarketingProfs . Or, for even faster assistance, go through 911MarketingHelp.com - Experts on Call which has a team of top MarketingProfs Know-How Exchange experts standing by 24/7 to help you.

All the best with your new project.

First of all, answer yourself as to why you thought you would like to expand in a particular area. That probably would give you lot of leads as to where to look for why you thought those people would need the services of a firm like yours.

    You could also start by:

    1. interacting with the local chambers of commerce in the areas that you want to expand in.
    2. getting a database of local industries and start a direct mail/personal contact program

You may also think of getting professional help from many consulting companies near your work area.

If you have 30 years experience in this business, you should know what works and what doesn't better than any of us "Generalists".

Look at what made you successful and repeat...

If you're simply looking for FOCUS, understand that direct sales is the only way you are going to be able to overcome customer inertia and get them to move over to you from their current provider.

If you're planning on do-it-yourself, start by making contacts with business owners in the new area. If there is a local Chamber of Commerce, start there. You want to understand the needs of your prospects before you start marketing to them.

In this country, we have a logistics channel called a Fulfilment House or Fulfilment company.

Given your present business model, a small internal expansion into these new areas will develop a more complete and competitive expansion model.
