How To Brand An Online Home Consultancy Blog?

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I plan to develop an online home-based consultancy blog but do not want to be taken as another money-making blog. My target audiences will be as follow.

1. Retrenched, Retired and Jobless
2. About 35-65 years old.
3. Well educated and have acquired specialized knowledge, skills and expertiese in their fields

I plan to give them a framework and guide them to set up their own home-based business by converting their knowledge into some coaching program.

The problem now is how do I brand and position myself? I like the concept of "Grow your wealth garden" but it didn't say much value. I had the initial idea of "Create your 2nd Career for Life" but didn't seem to have the impact.

Appreciate if someone could give me some ideas and advices. Thank you.

    Dear lynn.chong,

You position yourself by being EVERYWHERE.

You post to blogs, forums, and social media platforms; you get your opinions out into the market place and you build a following—you establish a presence, you appoint yourself as an authority and you pull in as many people to help support you in your mission as you possibly can.

Only then will you brand yourself. Give value. Give opinion and create trust by helping people get what they want. Then, in time, they'll help you get what YOU want.

Stop planning to give people a framework and GIVE THEM A FRAMEWORK.

You must tell people why you're qualified to guide them to set up their own home-based business.

How will you help them convert their knowledge into some kind of coaching program?

Your best be might be to just tell people your name and what you can do for them. Sounds pretty simple, but that's what will make you stand out: simple results.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks all for the reply.

Yes, Phil, you are right, there are many experts are there giving free advices but the group of people I identified is my niche market. I haven't come across anyone giving advice on how to Build an Online Home-Based Business by converting their knowledge and expertise into something valuable and desirable. At least, I couldn't find it online.

And thanks Gary. I understand what need to be done to be an authority but I'm looking how to brand my blog now so that it could stand out from the rest. The blog is my first step to reach out to my target market so leaving a good first impression is very important.

Could a strong tagline helps? Like what I mentioned previously.

"Find out How to Grow your Wealth Garden Here" or

"Create your 2nd Career for Life"

Which tagline attract you to stay on the blog and find out more.

I would like to hear your comment. Thank you.

    Dear Lynn,

Yes, a strong tag line can help, but what will help more is quality content. And your second line, "Create your 2nd Career for Life"
is the more compelling of the two.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
