I really think I need to take a class on SEO... I would love to know how I could get my blog noticed a little better than posting it on Marketing Profs forum...

I've heard of pinging through sites like pingomatic.com but I don't have any idea if this is effective and I had heard that it may be illegal.

Any smidgen of advice would be appreciated...

    Find like-minded blogs, and join their conversations. If you have an article that seems worth a mention on their blog, share it.

    Pingomatic won't get you noticed by more people - just seen by websites sooner. To be seen by people you either need links/recommendations and/or good keywords/highly ranking website based on keywords you're trying to target.

    I use the Thesis Theme for my blog and they do most the SEO stuff for you...it's built in. I found out it really does work like they say it does when I mentioned a pair of Cole Haan pumps in one of my posts. Ever since, whenever I am browsing on the web I see Cole Haan ads everywhere.

    As a small biz owner I don't have a lot of time to mess with SEO so it's a real plus when I find something that does a great job of this for me without costing me an arm and a leg.
