How To Speed Up Google Indexing?

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Our new site has just gone live and we have submitted site maps to Google, Yahoo and Bing. We had a "dummy" site before which was indexed by Google but not for all pages. I notice that we have been indexed by Yahoo and Bing much more quickly than Google.
I would love to hear if anyone knows ways to get indexed more quickly by Google?

You may never get all of your pages indexed in G. However, the best methods for getting pages indexed are:

    1. Internal Linkage to pages that aren't indexed
    2. External linkage to those pages
    3. If there are infrastructure issues then submitting an XML sitemap might help.
    4. Have high quality content that isn't duplicate, isn't scrped, etc.
    5. Make certain that those page don't employ spam tactics (intentionally or unintentionally).
    6. Make certain those pages are structurally search compatible. Are they constructed with search unfriendly technologies like Flash (Flash can be optimized but it takes work), do they have sufficient unique content, are the links to them in Javascript (JS links can be read but they are not a first choice) or flash (again, same deal)?
    7. Is there a robots.txt or rel="noindex" in place that may be blocking those pages?

There are a number of other, more intricate issues to look at but these are where I'd start.

excellira, thank you for your detailed and clear response.

We certainly haven't intentionally used any spam tactics but how do I find out what these are in case we've done it unintentionally?
I will add more internal links (it was on my list to do but I didn't know it had to do with indexing, just PR, so thanks for that tip!)
Our content is completely original as it is a new solution so we have written everything ourselves. And
We have avoided flash and the links are all using Joomla's own internal hyperlink system so they should be fine. I will however check for any nofollow or noindex.
    thanks again,
    Kerry

You probably don't have anything to worry about. However, you'd need someone to look it over if the above doesn't work.

Keep in mind that Goog doesn't index every page on a site and there is some question as to whether they indicate accurate indexation. FWIW.
