Launching Of Yacht Services

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I need suggestions and ideas for a launch of a new yacht services which allows members of the public to rent a yacht.

The purpose of this event is to soft-launch a bespoke Yacht Chartering Service for the discerning.
The event is to drum up interest and make our guests aware that such a unique yacht chartering service exists in the market here in Singapore.
We will host around 50 pax during the event.

The guests are Professionals in their 30-50s; high rollers, Execs and leaders in their Careers. Mixture of locals & Expats.

What could we do to make this soft-launch a fabulous event? An event that is exciting, engaging and drums up interest for our bespoke Yacht service offering?

Besides sitting on a yacht - what's in it for them? A floating casino? A fashion show? A catered dinner on a remote island? A executive retreat to a private club? A rendezvous with a private submarine?

@ Jay - basically its a rental services with a full crew where you can have a private party on board complete with bedrooms, kitchen, etc and the yacht can accommodate up to 50 people on board at any time.

@Phil - my apologies for the choice of words but yes as shared with Jay above and pax in short means people(sorry, its just a term we always use here in Singapore) and its meant to be a launch and not just a soft launch(again apologies for that)

    cheers!

Pax Vobiscum, @Phillipius... "Pax" is used quite a lot in the airline and hospitality industry as shorthand for passengers.

@Ralph... This is obviously an exclusive and expensive service aimed at the HNW/UHNW segment? I imagine there would be corporate heavyweights among the target audience too? I'm anticipating you would have a seriously heavyweight budget for the event, too.

How about organising some fabulously exclusive but 'safe' entertainment, e.g. Barbra Streisand; Elton John, Cliff Richard, Beyonce or maybe go classical - with a couple of opera stars, playing a few favourite arias... Names like that should guarantee you local media coverage.

HNW Journal or Worth magazine may provide a good global audience for the event, if lead times permit.

I assume that you've got a list of prospects and the focus is on luring them to sign up and dazzling them when they get there. Also, assume that you're going to have the launch on a yatch, which it should given that's the product/service being offered.

Why not make it a combination mystery voyage/treasure hunt theme with a planned itinerary of stops that aren't necessarily announced in advance. You might be able to come up with a tag line like "Discover the Treasure of Yatching".

Create invitations from rustic looking "treasure maps" (something like this, https://www.bnoticed.com/ProductDetail/ProductDetail.aspx?Ntt=treasure+map&...) that arrives in a roll to make it stand out all the more in the mail.

When they arrive, you could give each participant a nautical style tote (https://www.bnoticed.com/ProductDetail/ProductDetail.aspx?Ntt=nautical&...) to collect their cluses in and lead them on a search for the treasure by give the each couple/group instructions with maps of the yatch leading them to different areas that you want them to visit. There, someone would be availble to tout the amenties of that feature as well as give them another clue to the location of the "treasure" and the next stop on their search. By giving individual instructions, you could keep groups dispersed and on a rotation giving amble time for them to see each area and hear the sales pitch.

You could even incorporate the ports of call on the hunt getting the participants to see especially alluring locals within reach from a yatch journey.

You could get real creative with clues or just give out customized coins (https://www.bnoticed.com/ProductSearch/QSResults.aspx?Nr=LMSiteEligibility:...) each with a special number or letter engraved on them which corresponds to a number on keys at the final stop... and one of the keys unlocks the treasure chest with the grand prize!

Then, at the end of the cruise, you could have the use a key that they obtained during one part of the treasure hunt to unlock a "treasure chest" for a chance to win a grand prize... or one of several quality runner up prizes with a nautical theme. The grand prize might be a weekend yatch rental, catered, etc. Runner up prizes might include some of the following (each featuring your company logo, of course) depending on budgets:

    Treasure Chest Wine Set: https://www.bnoticed.com/ProductDetail/ProductDetail.aspx?Ntt=treasure+ches...

    Treasure Chest Gift Basket:

    Rolled Up Leather Chess Set:

    Nautical Style Wrist Watch:
    https://www.bnoticed.com/ProductDetail/ProductDetail.aspx?Ntt=nautical&...

    High End Nautical Style Clock:

    A Crystal Globe:
    https://www.bnoticed.com/ProductDetail/ProductDetail.aspx?Ntt=globe&kid...

    There's tons of possibilities!

Of course, that's just one idea. You could do a casino cruise for something fun or a dinner/dance cruise for something more sedate.

Good luck with the launch. If there'a anything we can do to help, let us know.
