Please Need Suggestion Regarding Research Project

Hi,
I am MBA (marketing) student. Please share some topics on which i can do a full fledge my specialization project. The topic should be somewhat different (not motherhood topic) and on which can extensive research can be done.

    The list is large...what are you interested in? Return on Online Marketing remains largely a mystery, especially with respect to (partly) customer-initiated activities such as paid search, organic search and social media

    Select a topic that is interesting to YOU, not necessarily to us. And if you pick a topic that's related to an industry or company where you might want to work, then it can do double-duty for you, and set you up with some in-depth knowledge that might help you land the perfect job.

    I have a suggestion, instead of doing something as a purely acedemic , why not do a real topic that might have income producing potential?

    If I ruled the world, every advanced degree study program would be driven towards a real revenue producing idea.

    It would seem to me the right work could easily be marketed (and would lead to more doors being opened when you look for employment).

    Want to talk about it off line? I have a few ideas right now.

    Thank you very much for all your valuable advices. I am thinking of doing "A study on changing consumer preference towards Smartphones compared to Cell phone." In that i can actual survey of say 200 consumers and analysis will be on the basis of that. for my project actual survey using questionnaire is mandatory so i am thinking of this topic. your opinions & topic suggestions are most welcome!!

    Dear Ashu,

    As an MBA project, that is a fine topic if it interests you. However, resist the tempation to go for a 'quick-and-dirty' survey with a convience sample - I have seen too many of these and any insights will be severely limited.

    Take the time to digest the literature on smartphones, cell phones and on how to best obtain and analyze consumer preferences. If you decide for a survey, make sure it is the best one you can come up with, and test it with a few friends/family members before unleashing it on your 200 respondents!

    @ koen.h.pauwels thank you very much for your valuable inputs. Also if you have any idea regarding other topic for MBA project is also welcome. I will keep that topic as my backup topic since I have to first approve my topic with my project guide. :)
