Branding of mining company? Interesting project.

Wen most people think of branding, they think of what the customer of the company think of the company. But mining companies generally have very few, and specific, customers. Only those companies that need the raw materials will be possible customers. And the raw materials are often commodities, so customers don't really care where they get it from, so long as price and delivery is right. So branding likely is not something done much, which could be why you are having trouble finding information.

There is an aspect of branding that may be done, and that is with the various stakeholders. Specifically, with government and neighbors. Mining is often a dangerous and dirty business, and neighbors to the mines can be negatively affected by the mine. So mines may take on branding projects to improve how people see them. Things like showing the benefit of jobs provided and tax revenue, and play down any damage they are doing to the environment.
