Effectively Communicate Company's 3d Services

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
HI Guys/Gals and everyone in between,

Just wanted to pick your brains on how to effectively communicate my new client's service which is basically 3D graphics for advertising . 3d graphics usually meant lenticular imaging which basically was 2-3 images imposed on top of the other using a special process to create a 3D effect. This is not what this company does, they create real 3D forms which pop out at you. This is actually a unique product and I'm trying to get them found via SEO / SEM and website redesign . I did my keyword research and most of the 3D categories like 3D posters, 3D pop displays, 3D signage show lenticular imaging and I don't know if I should position this brand together with those . Please check out the website as we will rebrand and redesign it as well www.standoutgraphics.com

Most of their target markets are other sign shops,PR firms and advertising agencies . Thank you in advance

Thanks for the quick reply Phil the egg would have to be in a box that's 3" deep to accommodate the contours . It's not an illusion it is really a 3d rendering of an image . Because of the unique nature of this offering I am struggling on where best to position this company.

The question is really two pronged as when we figure out how to position then we will rebuild the site . We are already working on 3D animated effects for the header banner and a slideshow for the main banner.

My email is {Email address deleted by staff] and would love to hear from you .

It probably goes without saying that the best way to present the concept is with a real sample. Trying to capture it in 2D is always going to fall flat by comparison.

It's a little like showing hi-def TV or 3D-TV on an old standard-res television set. You might get the idea, but you can't really internalize it until you see the real thing. It's just a concept.

So you probably need a website for this product, but it's going to be very difficult to make the idea come alive that way. Even a picture that "shows" the 3D will not be able to inject the excitement of seeing the real thing.

And, if you're selling the magic of the medium you really need to show your target audience exactly what it is and why it's so exciting.

@mgoodman : what you say is true that is why I'm having a tough time trying to convey this particular product to the target audience. From the owner's perspective too a face to face is always effective when pitching this product. With that in mind it might be a good goal for the website to get a request for a product demo . I am trying to incorporate an image of people touching the product to convey some of that emotional attachment and novelty and at the same time emphasize perspective.

Selling the "magic" is a great start off point for formulating a marketing campaign for this offering. Thanks Jedi Master :)

Can you do a quick animation/video pan of the image to show the 3D effect from multiple angles? That'll help showcase the effect.
