Before you look for an investor you need a business strategy. You should stop doing anything else and work up a proper strategic plan immediately.

One strategy might involve getting your products quoted for manufacture, then taking your samples and going from boutique to boutique to gather orders. Then get the clothes made under a contract to fulfil the orders you have taken.

If you take part-payment deposits with orders, and can pay the manufacturer on terms, you might find you don't really need an investor.

But without a strategic business and marketing plan, and a proper cashflow projection based on your strategy, you'll never know.

    Kiesha,
    Chris B's ideas are solid.

A few items you need to consider for your business strategy:
    - Do you want to produce custom/couture, or do you want to be commercially available?
    - If commercial, what stores might you want to be in? Neiman Marcus or Macy's? Very different shoppers and price-points.
    - Are wedding gowns and attendant attire your focus, or is your passion elsewhere?

As Chris mentioned, once you develop your targets and goals it will be easier to know if you need an investor and where to find one.

    Good luck
