Facebook Fan Page Vs Profile Page

Hi all

My company has a very active social networking strategy and currently our profile page on facebook has reached its limit of 5000 friends. I also have a fan page attached to this which has only 250 fans. However I want to ideally shut down the profile page and just have a very active fan page. Do you know is there anyway to just operate the fan page and transfer all my friends over. Canm i shut down just my profile page and just have the fan poage or do i haveto delete my account and start from scratch with just a fan page??

    We recently researched a similar situation. You might try contacting Facebook corporate for assistance, but you'll likely need to do what we were advised. That is, promote your Fan page as your official FB page and encourage current Friends of your Profile page to join your Fan page via incentives, promotions and engaging content, of course. You can also do what we're planning by posting notices to our unwanted FB pages that the page will eventually be closed, so come join the conversation on our new and improved Fan page.
