Mini Dessert & Baking Company

We have a few names for our business. We are two mature women! and we have been hosting mini dessert parties & selling our baking through friends to guage response and market interest for past 12month. We need a name that is going to appeal to a wide range of cliental - being corporate/residential cliental.

DESSERTS FIRST - mini dessert & baking company

We need a byline that is simple yet effective. Our mini desserts are in spoons/shot glasses/mini bowls or served on a platter. Our cookies - we have 6 varieties
and do not do cupcakes. We are aiming at home catering dessert parties and corporate evening with a difference. We only want to cater for up to 30 for desserts. Our cookies can be attractively packaged into groups of 6 or plattered for presentation for morning/afternoon tea etc and we have also done bridal showers combining the two - desserts & cookies. We will also set up for desserts if required and with enough notice can theme the set up as well.
Any constructive ideas would be welcomed.

    I would focus more on the product and not you and your partner. People want to know where they can get dessert services fast, and if you describe that, you've won half the battle. That's why I like your idea of Desserts First.

    Instead of "mini-dessert & baking company" though, I would use something like "home catering parties" or something that better describes what your business offers.

    Thanks heaps for your really constructive info. Point taken. I am assuming by 'home catering parties'you are talking about our products being delivered to your home, Would it be better to slant it more to the "mini desserts delivered to your home" etc??? Desserts first would fit this perfectly - do you think we should drop the home baking side and concentrate just on perfecting one aspect and then perhaps adding in the 'cookies' side later?

    If that's what you do -- mini desserts delivered to your home -- than that's what you should communicate. Don't try to make people believe something that you're not :)

    Thanks so much for your really constructive comments Tim. We had decided that Dessert First would be our ''name'''' and if we branch out and continue with the cookies we can keep the two completely separate. Love the bylines, it becomes so difficult when you are doing this yourself to be objective. The mini desserts with a touch of class is suming up what we do perfectly. We have a product that is presented differently and very stylishly and this byline conveys that very simply. As you have said we now need to get fonts etc organised - just as well we have a printer as a customer!
