Name For A Cosmetics Line

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm planning to start my private label cosmetics line - but need a name; the focus will be on over 40 clients so I want to have a classy name/image/and branding ideas. I was thinking about using my initials however this is becoming common - I also thought about 'Platinum Quality Cosmetics' with a focus on organic mineral line, colors and finishes that compliment the older client.

I don't understand. If this is going to be a private label line, why do you need a name? Won't the name be that of your customer? If not, then what do you mean by "private label?"

Assuming you actually do need a name, it would help us if you could tell us exactly who the target audience is. Where do they live? What are they using today that you hope to replace? Why might they want to switch to your products? Are they not brand loyal? (This category usually has pretty high brand loyalty.)

The "over 40" market includes 3 billion people. You might want to narrow your target to something more realistic ... and something you can actually afford to reach.

Platinum Quality Cosmetics is an acceptable name, but what is the correlation between your organic mineral cosmetics and platinum. Will that be the color of your packaging? Or are you using the name because it's considered a high-end precious metal? I would focus more on a name more fresh and holistic that ties the name in with your product.
