How To Build Linkedin Relationship?

Posted by mgredu on 250 Points
When someone accepts my invitation to connect on LinkedIn, I send them a quick thank you note with a short explanation of the services I/my organization provide/s. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else to do to build a relationship and, hopefully, convert these connections into sales. How have you successfully used your social media connections? Please share some best practices.

You build relationships by talking to people, by offering them useful, practical, helpful advice, links, content, and opinion. You do this over time, you do it well, and you do it WITHOUT selling but in a way that INCLUDES the benefits TO THE CUSTOMER of their life as it will be as a result of their use of whatever it is that you're offering.

I think the best way to establish relationships on LinkedIn is to join groups. Here you can participate in discussions, get to know people with the same interests (or who may need your product) and get your name/brand out there.

    I do this everyday -

Post an article on Groups - Get comments on my posts and then I personally follow up with the comments. These people are more willing it share information.

I then email them and ask if they would be willing to do a GoToMeeting and ask a time that is best for them.

It is all about getting them to find interest in you and then it isn''t like you are just spamming them.
