Facebook/politician : Recommend Button

A client has a FB page, set up as a politician. I have noticed many other local politicians (including her competitor) have a "recommend" button /box on the right side of their FB page. (not the like button, a box that allows people to write recommendations). All that I have found are set up as politicians, as is my client. I have searched high and low and cannot figure out how to activate this feature. Help!

I am not sure the links above are what I need; I am not looking for something to go on a website, but rather to appear on the actual FB/politician page. For examples I found, go to

the box is in the right hand side. I really appreciate the in put - and, if the plugins referenced above will do this, that is great. If not, perhaps the visual example will help. I am about to pull my hair out!

It IS the like button. Verb to display options "like" or "recommend"

Hi Valerie - It looks like the Recommend comes in with an Place page association. The two politician sites you gave show Politician - Tifton, Georgia. When you click the Like button on either of these, you get a pop up afterwards asking for a Recommendation. Does that happen on your page?

As it turns out, Jim's answer was closest; the recommend shown will only display in certain set ups; it seems both of the samples I found were set up first (or maybe via) as a place, then changed to a politician; hence the recommend function; when the FB is set up just as a politician no recommend function.
