An aggressive Adwords campaign should do the trick. Just be sure you have good message match between the keywords, the ads and the landing pages.

Separate subject: What makes you think the new website is "great?" What is your metric for "great?" (It's not immediately obvious what the call-to-action is, so I'm guessing conversion isn't nearly as high as it could be ... and probably not "great.")

    Mgoodman,

Thank you very much for the advice, I have a decent adwords campaign running and my ctr is 3.86% not too shabby although I would like to be at 5%.

I think I have a great site for the following reasons:

My on page SEO for the keyword term "tan in a can" on the homepage is mentioned 90 times in addition to other keywords I am ranking for, ie tan can, spray tan, etc...

I have several off page sites with high page rank pointing to mine: including hubpages, youtube, twitter, lonely planet, facebook, craigslist, and many directories. Several of these sites are already on the 2nd and 3rd page of Google

I am already listed on the 5th page of Google for tan in a can and I just put the site up two weeks ago.

I have incorporated Video and blogging in my site to keep content fresh, new and exciting. Also for Keyword density.

I am using real testimonials from friends using the products to increase commercialism.

My keyword tan in a can has high search volume are highly relevant to my site and only have moderate competition.

I use alt tags on my images and my h1, and h2 are filled with keywords.

I track my sites progress through analytics to see where I can improve.

I have submitted the site to the yahoo, google and bing site maps,

I try to keep good white space for viewablilty.

I love the CALL TO ACTION Critique! I will take it and run with it. check back to https://www.taninacan.org for an update!

I would be worried about having your keyword appear 90 times "My on page SEO for the keyword term "tan in a can" on the homepage is mentioned 90 times in addition to other keywords I am ranking for, ie tan can, spray tan, etc. "

If you can afford a SEO consultation I believe that would be the best way to start. There are actionable issues you need to address to get good SERPs .

I just checked back, and it looks like something might not be working on your site. The homepage doesn't have any obvious selling points or benefit promise. It's just a product beauty shot and some copy that ends mid-sentence. No apparent call to action. No compelling benefit promise.

And when I click on the forward/back arrows nothing happens. It takes me right back to the same page.

What happened? You've even lost that signature shot of the tan line on the bikini-girl. I think you're going in the wrong direction.

Websites are "great" when they sell stuff. Having a decent click-through rate for search advertising is going to be very expensive if you can't convert the clicks.

And all the metrics you cite have nothing to do with selling stuff. In fact, if you're not generating sales, those metrics don't mean a thing.

Maybe you're buying the wrong keywords, or maybe you don't have great message match between your ads and the landing page. (Are you sending all your clicks from all the different keywords to the same page? If so, that might be part of the problem.)

You might need to re-think your web strategy and focus more on post-click marketing -- the landing pages -- and on the keywords your target audience is using. I suspect "tan in a can" is more of a slogan, rather than the words people use when they want a spray-tan product. (Not based on any research; just a hunch.)

Having a high page-rank for terms people don't use isn't worth much.
