How would you rate the Importance of backlinks vs. All other SEO aspects.

From a high score of 10 and a low score of 0.

Do you feel other factors in keyword rankings have more weight thank backlinks? Which?

    Score for importance of back links: 11 out of 10.

    Other factors: long-tailed keyword phrases.

    I wish we didn't have to do it, but it's incredibly important. You can have all of your on-page SEO spot on, but unless the search engine sees that your page is "one of the cool kids" (i.e. has high authority), it'll not be highly ranked.

    A must use tool: opensiteexplorer.org.
    Search for a keyword phrase that's important to you. See which of your competitors are ranked highly.
    Plug their URL into OSE.org
    See who's linking to them
    Get Linked too

    It's crappy boring drudgery, and anyone working on SEO hates that part but you just have to do it.

    But the quality of the back links is also very important. Anything less than PR 4 will not get you a high rank in search results.
