Theoretical models will only get you so far (wherever that may be). So, why not create your own model, apply it, test it, revamp it, and tweak it? You never know what you might learn.

The thing about brands and how they're judged and weighed is that there are other elements and qualities to consider here. Here are just a few:

First, brand choice will always vary over time and when weighed against competing and emerging factors.

Second, it will vary between control groups, nations, and time frames.

Third, it will vary within markets, within niches, and within brackets of income, age, need, desire, social proof, social influence and peer pressure.

Then there's the notion of value.

Value is a huge part of brand worth but it's often the thing that's most overlooked. A brand can't exist without value and without value you can't, technically speaking, have a brand that's worth anything.

Whether the concept of value is one that's delivered, promised, implied, and received, it will always, without exception depend on the one key element that switches brand awareness, respect, admiration, and desire on or off between groups of buyers and that thing is personal perception. In the long run it's perception that creates, fosters, and builds brands because all brands are neural abstracts, meaning that they in fact do not exist outside the mind of the individual.

Just my humble two cent's worth, most of which someone will probably violently disagree with, but it's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
